Brother TomDuring my senior year in high school I was given the privilege of working for the Southern Standard, a small newspaper, in McMinnville, TN.  It was a job that gave me access to a camera, a dark room and an endless supply of black and white film.  It was at this time that my passion for photography began.

Employment with the paper had me covering school news at Warren County Senior High School, and chasing fire trucks, police cars and ambulances.  My photographic style today is probably related to my days as a young photo journalist.   About a year after graduation I went back to the paper as the Sports Editor.  A sports beat was a bit ironic since I wasn't a sports fan.  However, it did get me back into a dark room with unlimited amounts of film.  While I didn't really care for sports, I loved photographing action, whether it was on a field or a police call!

After leaving the Southern Standard, and access to free film and dark room, my interest was reduced due to economic considerations.  Becoming a father renewed my interest, and the age of pixels brought photography back within my budget.  My youngest son's soccer play put me back on the sidelines taking sports pictures.

As God blessed me, and my wife gave me permission, I upgraded my equipment and my interest became a serious hobby.  Today I direct a photo ministry at my church, North Boulevard church of Christ, and cover sports programs, primarily soccer and football, for Riverdale High School, in my hometown of Murfreesboro, TN, where I have operated a Snap-on Tool franchise for 13 years.

The purpose of this site is to share photos with my church family, and the Riverdale players and their families.  It is also my intention to sell photos to everyone else!   I hope you enjoy what you see, and choose to purchase a few!
